Midnight

Hi, my name is Midnight and I’ve recently found my forever home.  I had been with Cats Protection for a year as unfortunately, I had pretty much no confidence in humans and none in myself, having been abandoned by a previous owner.

In the early days, I just used to sit in my igloo bed and hide from my foster mum.  All she could ever see where my large, scared eyes staring out.  Over time I managed to build up a really good relationship with my foster mum and not only did I find my voice (which is quite squeaky) but also managed to find the courage to let her stroke me (which I actually quite liked but was very nervous about).

My foster mum could see my potential at being a normal domesticated black moggy, provided someone would also be willing to take the time to understand me and build up a relationship.  Once I had had my annual MOT at the vets, I was good to go, so up on to the website I went to find my forever home.

A day later, my dreams came true!  A lady called Fiona had contacted the team at CP to enquire about me, as she had recently lost one of her cats and was only left with Murphy cat, who was used to having friends around.  She came to visit and although I was my normal scared self she saw something in me and a connection was made.

Over the next few weeks my mum-to-be visited me several times, bringing me a nice new bed, toys and some scrummy posh food, which I really liked!!  Then finally the day came – she collected me!

I am now very happily settled in to my new home and I have a new best friend called Murphy, who I love chasing round at night time – but I do make up for it by washing his face for him!  When I’m feeling weary I like to go and crash next to mums pillow or I go and lounge in the conservatory.  I’m still a bit nervy but I’m amazed at how much progress I’ve made – I love it here!
